Small Kind Actions That Enliven Your Day

Small friendly actions that liven up your day

When was the last time you did something that involved little effort on your part but had a huge emotional impact on someone else? I’m sure you’ve heard of small friendly acts. These are actions that are not difficult for you to perform, but that mean a lot to others.

A few minutes is all it takes, and the result will be a smile all day, both for you and the person who received the kind action. Here are some small friendly actions that will surely inspire you every day.

You should not limit yourself to waiting for Christmas or Mother’s Day to celebrate your loved ones. One of our little friendly actions that will enliven your day is to create a special date for someone else. How about “Family Ice Cream Day”? By being a celebration, it will create greater unity among those who celebrate, and over the years it will give you fond memories.

Traditional holidays should not be left out, but you do not have to wait for a day set by others to celebrate your loved ones. Why not create your own special moments?

When was the last time you met your grandfather? As time goes on, we notice that our calendar is full of commitments that prevent us from meeting the people we love the most. Another small friendly act that will make your day the happiest is to visit your loved ones. It may not mean much to you to spend the evening with your mother or a friend you have not met in several years, but for them it can be a special moment.

Something as simple as coming by and saying hello to someone you have not met in a long time shows that you care about the person. You too would surely be happy if someone showed up and surprised you to show that he cares.

I’m not talking about praising your child or telling your boss how good he is. These are two things we do very often. Among our small friendly actions that can change the day, we find praising someone you do not normally pay much attention to. When was the last time you turned to the person cleaning your office and thanked him or her for doing a good job?

We take many things for granted, such as the work and efforts of others. We overlook the people around us. You may just pass them by without even realizing they are there. They will be ghosts for you. Today you should take the time to see these people and praise them for the work they do. A thank you or a smile can liven up their whole day.

How many times have you needed someone who could listen to you, without anyone being there? You know it’s a situation that hurts a lot. You should therefore know that another friendly act that can liven up your day is to listen to someone who needs it. Knowing that you could help the person, and perhaps give them a reason to continue, will no doubt make you feel good.

But this action goes beyond how you feel. If you are there for someone who needs you, this person will probably be there for you in the future. It is not always easy to stand and listen to someone else for a minute. People prefer to talk to listen, but doing so later can be more rewarding than you think.

These small actions enliven the day because you can see beyond the ordinary and beyond yourself. Furthermore, they are so simple that you can certainly find daily opportunities to perform them, and the joy will be with you for a long time. What is your favorite? Have you performed any of these actions recently?
